The latest coronavirus data shows London and Essex could be set for Tier 3 restrictions after a rise in infection rates. In London, boroughs including Tower Hamlets, Greenwich and Lewisham so a rise in the rate of infection in the seven days to December 4.
In Tower Hamlets, the rate had risen from 205.7 to 224.5 with a further 729 cases, while in Greenwich the rate had risen from 144.5 to 189.3 - a rise of 545 new cases.
In Lewisham, the rate of infection rose from 100.7 to 124.9 with a 382 cases. Essex also saw a rise in covid rates, with Basildon, Essex, up from 293.3 to 406.5, with 761 new cases and Brentwood, also Essex, up from 155.8 to 266.2, with 205 new cases.
