Travelling abroad has been plunged into chaos as the coronavirus crisis has gripped the world - seeing borders shut and planes grounded.
Guidance from the Foreign Office means non-essential travel abroad is advised against, and there is seemingly no prospect of this changing soon.
Travel expert Simon Calder said the government could keep the restrictions all summer. On ITV's This Morning said: “I’ve just been in touch with the Foreign Office and asked ‘are you going to say anything different ever?’ and they said ‘our consular advice is under constant review.’ “So, no change there and it sounded actually as though they are actively discussing in government ‘should we keep it there all summer?’ This has left Brits set to go abroad this summer
