Brits returning to the country may soon have to pay to be locked up inside a hotel for ten days. Later today the Government is expected to announce plans to change the way people coming into the country quarantine.

It is believed isolation will be moved from the home to hotels, meaning authorities can keep a beadier eye on travellers potentially infected with the coronavirus.

Arrivals will be made to stay in quarantine for ten days and pay as much as £1,500 for the privilege, ITV has reported. Best Western is ready to offer 5,000 rooms to incoming travellers and has been in talks with the Government about doing so.
