Whatever happens now, Liverpool will NOT lift the title at Anfield. We are entering a surreal world where football will be completely unrecognisable even if it does go ahead.
Teams will play in Premier League grounds… just not their own. The plans presented to the 20 clubs at Friday’s summit meeting included “between eight and ten neutral and approved” top flight stadiums.
They are likely to be stadiums such as Brighton ’s AmEX, St Mary’s in Southampton, Manchester City and West Ham as they are all modern and outside the main city centre.
And neutral grounds, along with the morality of trying to play and train amid a global pandemic, is still the biggest obstacle facing Project Restart in the next few weeks.
