More than a third of motorists have increased their driving in the past month, figures show. Driving association the RAC said 10% more cars are now on the road, compared to the first week of lockdown, when businesses were ordered to close.

It comes as Boris Johnson is set to announce phase two of the UK's lockdown on Sunday - with some measures set to be eased. Vehicle breakdowns are also up by nearly a fifth since week one, the RAC said, despite warnings that non-essential car journeys could mean you're not covered on the road.
