Coronavirus: Head teacher tells parents 'I'd rather kids retake a year than die'

A head teacher has sent parents a brutally honest letter warning them that social distancing in primary schools is impossible.

Howard Fisher, head of St George's Church of England Primary School in Sheerness, Kent, said he'd rather his pupils retake a year again than let one of them die.

The heartfelt message has been shared more than 15,000 times on Facebook amid Boris Johnson 's plans to reopen schools from June 1, Kent Live reports.

The Prime Minister told the nation this week he expected early years, Reception and Year 1 children to return to school from the start of next month.
