A man is dead and his wife is in critical condition after they ingested the drug chloroquine phosphate, reportedly to prevent themselves from getting coronavirus. Donald Trump touted a drug, which is usually used to treat malaria, during a recent press conference.
He said that it has potential to become an important drug in the fight against coronavirus, though the FDA has said that drug is not yet approved for coronavirus.
The husband and wife, who are both in their 60s, had to seek emergency medical care within half an hour of using the substance.
