A man is due to appear in court today after reports of a person repeatedly approaching members of the public in a queue outside a Tesco store during lockdown.
Police were called to the store, in Stalybridge, Tameside, on Saturday. There they found a man “unnecessarily out of his home”.
He was approaching members of the public in a queue outside the Tesco store, Greater Manchester Police said. “Officers advised the man about his conduct but he continued to approach people contrary to social distancing rules and government guidelines on the restriction of movement during the emergency period,” a spokesperson for the force said.
