A man has died after reportedly falling from the 16th floor of a luxury New York City apartment block amid coronavirus self-isolation rules.

Neighbours told the New York Post of the tragedy that happened in the apartment building on Chambers Street, where the man lived, on Friday night.

The 64-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, reports read. One building resident, who did not want to be named, told The Post the incident was upsetting.
