PHILADELPHIA - Authorities are investigating a stabbing that occurred inside the same Philadelphia prison where two inmates managed to escape more than a week ago.

Police say the incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. inside the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center on the 8300 block of State Road.A 28-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in his upper body and transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital.

He was listed in stable condition.No weapon was recovered and no arrest was made. RELATED HEADLINES: The incident comes as authorities continue to search for Ameen Hurst, 18, after he and another inmate escaped the facility last Sunday.

Their disappearance went unnoticed until Monday afternoon, when authorities launched a broad search. Michael Abrams, 21, was arrested Monday afternoon in Berwyn on charges related to the May 7 escape of Ameen Hurst and Nasir Grant from Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center.Nasir Grant, 24, escaped alongside Hurst and was taken back into custody late last week.

Homeless woman who gave bike to 3-year-old boy after his was stolen, gifted $11K in donations

Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition partnered with the Rockland Police Department to raise funds to help Darlene Plasse-Young, affectionately nicknamed "bike lady," who was going through some financially difficult times. The non-profit organization hoped to raise enough funds to help pay off Plasse-Young’s car, which is now her home, so she could eventually afford rent at an apartment. On Tuesday, Rockland police, members of Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition and the parents of the 3-year-old boy presented Plasse-Young with a $11,902 check. "She just couldn’t believe it," Lura Robinson, with Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition, told FOX TV Stations. "She was in tears." Plasse-Young’s car costs about $19,000 and she and her former daughter-in-law plan to get her car payments refinanced so she doesn’t have to struggle so much to afford it. "Thankful, so very thankful," Plasse-Young said in a statement.

WASHINGTON - Chrysler-parent Stellantis has recalled more than 132,000 Jeep Cherokee vehicles over the risk of fire, telling owners to park their SUVs outside in the meantime.The recall, announced on Tuesday, impacts certain model year 2014-2016 Jeep Cherokee vehicles, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.An electrical short in the power liftgate module could lead to a vehicle fire with the ignition on or off, according to a notice from the NHTSA.
