A man who was distraught about the coronavirus pandemic and losing his job shot his girlfriend, before killing himself. “I already talked to God and I have to do this” – these were the chilling last words of Roderick Bliss IV, reports the New York Post.
The 38-year-old, who was found by cops unresponsive with a pistol in his hand, shot his longterm girlfriend in the back as she fled.
Bliss had becoming increasingly disheartened and upset about the pandemic, said a police report. Cops arrived to North 17th Street in Wilson where the incident occurred on Monday afternoon after reports of shots fired.
The 43-year-old victim, who has not been named, was rushed to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill, she is expected to survive
