Manchester City and Manchester United have seemingly seen their chances of signing Saul Niguez improve after Barcelona decided not to sign the Atletico Madrid midfielder.
The Spanish champions agreed a £15million deal in October to have first option on Niguez and several other Atletico players that allowed them to match bids from other clubs.
Such an agreement would not have guaranteed Barcelona would have landed Niguez, only that they would be offered the chance to match any bid from competitors.
The Spain international has been linked with a transfer this summer following his impressive displays in La Liga and the Champions League.
