Manchester United want to keep Odion Ighalo for longer but will reportedly wait to see when the Premier League season restarts before opening talks.
The Nigeria international has been a massive hit at Old Trafford since joining on loan from Shanghai Shenhua in the January transfer window.
In eight games in all competitions, the 30-year-old has chipped in with four goals and one assist, with his strikes coming in the Europa League and FA Cup.
But his loan deal has now entered into its final month with the striker set to return to China on May 31 if nothing further is agreed.
