Manchester United are set to swipe Sunderland wonderkid Joe Hugill away from Tottenham after making contact with the Black Cats.
Jose Mourinho and co. were believed to be in pole position to land young striker Hugill. Spurs sent top scout Ian Broomfield to watch the 16-year-old in action before the coronavirus lockdown, and was presumably impressed with what he saw.
However, the north London side are now set to miss out Hugill after United swooped in with a last gasp bid, according to the Sun.
It’s understood that the Sunderland U18 star will command a six figure fee, and is rated as highly as any youngster his age.
