Manchester traders beg landlords for rent break after admitting virus lockdown has left businesses in 'ragged tatters'

Manchester traders have sent a ‘begging’ letter to landlords asking for a rent break so their businesses can survive lockdown.

Some of the biggest names in hospitality have co-signed the letter and many more are supporting the appeal. Approaching owners “on bended knee” they say they desperately need breathing space from rental payments until they can open again, as government initiatives to help businesses have not gone far enough.
