A helpline set up to support residents in Manchester with food donations has seen over 10,000 requests since lockdown began.
Staff from Manchester Council, volunteers, charitable organisations and businesses have united to deliver food support packs, totalling more than 30,000.
The community response service launched on 30 March as the country was placed in lockdown, leaving many people struggling to get food and essential items.
Managed by the council-run New Smithfield Market in Openshaw, in the first six weeks of lockdown, the service received requests for 10,000 people.
