Martin Lewis has issued an urgent warning for Brits to check their European Health Insurance Card – or else risk not being covered for health emergencies as they jet off on holiday.
The money wizard is aware that many Brits will be escaping the UK for a well-deserved break after travel restrictions are lifted in July, but notes 5.8 million EHIC cards are on the cusp of expiring and many already have.
Providing free or reduced-cost healthcare in countries in the European Economic Area and Switzerland, the cards are essential to have in your wallet when you travel – but only if they are valid.
