Menthol cigarettes to be banned next month in 'drive towards smoke-free society'

New smoking laws are being introduced next month. From May 20, smokers will no longer be able to purchase menthols, menthol rollies and skinny cigarettes.

Click dual cigarettes, including Sterling Dual, are also being banned. The Department of Health says the change in regulations is “an important milestone in the Government’s drive towards a smoke-free society by 2030”.

And Action on Smoking and Health believes the move is an important one too. As two-thirds of smokers start before the age of 18, the menthol ban could stop as many teens getting hooked.
