Ally McCoist has slammed the Arsenal dressing room after news of Mesut Ozil's wage cut refusal came to light. The German has come under fire after reports emerged of him refusing to take a 12.5 per cent wage drop from his £350,000-a-week contract.
Ozil is the club's highest earner but has made it clear he is willing to help in other ways. The decision has also felt to be too rushed and the full financial impact of the coronavirus crisis has yet to come to light.
Arsenal had arranged a deal that saw players take a 12.5 per cent wage drop that would be repaid if the club qualify for the Champions League, as well as a £100,000 bonus.
