The British Army will join forces with police to patrol UK beaches this weekend in a bid to enforce the coronavirus lockdown.

Police in southwest England have announced they will take part in boat patrols with the military during Easter over fears second homeowners will use Bank Holiday weekend as an excuse to visit their properties.

With temperatures set to soar, there are concerns many will flock to the coast, putting an enormous strain on resources. Devon & Cornwall Police are set to patrol the M5 motorway on the Somerset and Devon border to stop tourists from breaching lockdown rules.
