Mix of school and home learning for next term discussed at education meetings

A blended learning approach, with students alternating between lessons at school and home, is among the options being discussed for the next school year.

Schools are due to reopen on a phased basis in late August or early September according to the Government's roadmap for the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions.

The blended learning option was discussed at the first formal planning meetings on the reopening of schools that took place yesterday between the Department of Education and education partners.

Teacher trade union representatives and school management bodies were among organisations represented at a series of primary and post-primary sectoral meetings that took place remotely.
