Ecstatic Joan Cartwright throws open her upstairs window to meet her new great-grandchild for the first time – after seven weeks of being stuck inside.
The pensioner flung open her windows and arms in joy when she spotted baby Holly. The great grandmother was left open-mouthed with delight after her grandson, Will and his wife, Jen, popped round to introduce Joan to her sixth great-grandchild.
The couple said it was an “emotional moment” as she shouted down: “I hope I can hold her one day.” Lockdown rules prevented nanna having a cuddle with Holly in her upstairs flat in Horsforth, Leeds.
So Will Cartwright, 36, a chartered town planner, decided to organise a surprise appearance beneath his nanna’s window this week.
