A total of 146 Covid-19 survivors have been released from hospital in Ayrshire so far after fighting off the virus. The patients have been discharged from Ayr and Crosshouse hospitals since March 5.
Sadly at least 120 people with coronavirus have died in Ayrshire according to the most up to date figures released last week.
Former Olympian and MSP Brian Whittle , 55, who had symptoms of the“horrible” infection there is a 50:50 survival rate in some critical situations with patients on ventilators.
He said: “I have been given reports from health care professionals saying if you end up with Covid-19 and have to go into hospital for treatment there is a 50:50 chance of survival.
