More than 8,000 people are waiting for Covid-19 tests in the midwest region, which covers Limerick, Clare and north Tipperary.
The Health Service Executive has set up 41 coronavirus testing locations across the country, two are located in Limerick city at the Child and Family Centre in Roxboro where there are three swabbing stations, and at St.Gabriel's school in Dooradoyle in the city.
One is also located at the Derg Centre in Nenagh with two drive-thru stations and one at the Ennis driving centre where there are also two drive-thru swabbing stations.
An extra drive-thru will start today at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick and an extra swabbing station at the Nenagh location.
