A mum-of-three hasn't been able to hug her special needs son for months and can only see him through a glass screen at a care home.
Shakila Adhyaru told of the heartbreaking moment she had to tell her son Jake Wright, 25, "no" when he asked her to hug him.
The 46-year-old nurse, from Southport, Merseyside, was thankful she was wearing a face mask because it hid the tears streaming down her cheeks.
Jake has learning disabilities and cerebral palsy, and has been living in in St Joseph's care home in Formby. Shakila told the Liverpool Echo that she has tried to explain to him why he can't go home for visits and that they cannot hug due to coronavirus social distancing measures, but he doesn't understand.
