Gov. Phil Murphy announced during his daily briefing over 1,759 new cases and 166 new deaths attributed to the virus. Murphy announced Friday that he will sign an executive order to assemble a council of faith, community and industry leaders to aid in the state's reopening plans.

The "Governor's Restart and Recovery Advisory Council" will work to implement the strategy put forth by the Restart and Recovery Commission.
