New summer series of Love Island to film… in the UK?

ITV’s Love Island is likely to come out in August of this year, and could even be filmed in the UK instead of the sunny surrounds of Spain.

According to Variety, the new series was originally set to be filmed in Mallorca and South Africa in May but due to the current worldwide health crisis, this plan was scrapped.

A similar change of plan is reportedly being considered for another ITV show, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. While casting for the potential UK-based series is said to be underway, Variety were told by a senior entertainment executive that the upcoming series could be ‘in the hands of insurance companies.’ Discussing the myriad of ‘complex conversations going on’ they added: ‘It’s all down to whether you get insurance.
