Three-quarters of New Zealand's economy has re-opened after a month-long lockdown, which Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern credited with eliminating domestic transmission of the coronavirus.
Schools will reopen and gatherings of up to 10 people are allowed for events such as weddings or funerals. Several social distancing policies are being maintained, with shopping centres, pubs, hairdressers and other public shopping areas to stay shut for at least another two weeks.
Ms Ardern has warned New Zealanders to be more cautious than ever, due to Covid-19's incubation period and said restrictions will only be lifted further if circumstances were right.
