Dozens of countries around the world are on lockdown in order to contain the coronavirus pandemic. But lockdown can cripple a country’s economy – potentially costing lives as well as money – and so politicians are beginning contemplate life in a post-lockdown world.
Until a workable Covid-19 vaccine is developed and distributed, we can expect to be living in a “new world order.” New Zealand is one of the first countries to relax its hard lockdown, opening up many business from tomorrow.
The country’s lockdown measures have been a huge success: "We have stopped a wave of devastation," said the country’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
