A coronavirus survivor who "battled for every breath" was given a guard of honour when he was discharged from hospital. Hylton Murray-Philipson spent five days in intensive care unit at Leicester Royal Infirmary after displaying symptoms of coughing and high temperature of 40C.
He was captured on video being applauded by the NHS staff who lined up at the corridor as he made his way out of the hospital.
Hylton, of Market Harborough in Leicestershire, waves at the the doctors and nurses as they clap for him while he is making his way past in a wheelchair.
The 61-year-old told the Leicester Mercury: "When you have battled for every breath, everything just feels incredible. "I was fighting for breath, I spent five days fighting for my life.
