Nicola Sturgeon announces 26 new Covid-19 cases but no deaths recorded

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases across the country now stands at 19,358. Patients currently being treated in hospital with the deadly virus stands at 248 with three currently in intensive care.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in Scotland remains at 2,491.Early estimates show 13 of the new cases are from the Grampian area, with a new cluster emerging in Coupar Angus.

The latest figures come as the First Minister is facing new demands to explain the transfer of hospital patients to care homes after it was revealed nearly 40 were moved following a positive Covid test..
