NEW DELHI : The Narendra Modi government is likely to announce a comprehensive economic package to tackle the impact of coronavirus pandemic in India today.

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to make the announcement shortly at a press conference. The Modi government has already given compliance related relief to companies and taxpayers before the 21-day nationwide lockdown began.

Earlier, a report had claimed that the government will bring in an economic stimulus package of more than ₹1.5 lakh crore.
