The National Public Health Emergency Team will meet today to review the progress being made to reduce the incidence of Covid-19, exactly two weeks after the introduction of the Level-5 social and economic restrictions.

The Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tony Holohan has urged those who are close contacts of confirmed cases to stay at home for a full 14-day period.

He said that by doing so they will be playing their part in the national effort to bring the virus right back down to where we all need it to be.

Two weeks into the Level 5 restrictions and there are plenty of favourable COVID-19 data trends for NPHET to consider today.

PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia community is rallying together to try to curtail crime and violence that has gripped their once peaceful neighborhood. Melissa Brannon, a 10 year resident of Fairmount, organized a town watch and for that last month has gathered with neighbors to strategize about how to make their community safer.  She was inspired to make a change after a recent spike in crime that included four broad daylight carjackings and a shooting in front of a popular neighborhood bar. Brannon recruited Anthony Murphy, the Executive Director of Town Watch Integrated Services, to lead the training. Fairmount neighborhood watch participants gathered to learn special training.

PHILADELPHIA - Anyone who has driven in Philadelphia knows how badly some streets are pitted with potholes that can inflict costly damages to your vehicle. FOX 29's Hank Flynn spoke to frustrated motorists whose accidental thud on a cratered street cost them big bucks. Pearl, a Philadelphia driver, said she clanked into a pothole at Broad and Pike streets last week and completely blew out her front passenger's side tire and skewed another."I went into the pothole, It threw me onto the pavement, I had to replace this tire, It blew completely out and that one had a bubble," Pearl said. The whole fix cost her $400.Anyone who has driven in Philadelphia knows how badly some streets are pitted with potholes.

As a result, “only ballpark figures” were released.According to the estimated numbers, there are now about 1,380 people being treated in hospital with COVID-19, a drop from 1,494 patients in Alberta hospitals on Friday.The number of people being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care units also dropped — from 116 patients Friday to about 95 Tuesday.It’s not known how many deaths were reported to Alberta Health over the long weekend.

LONDON - The fossil of a 170-million-year-old pterosaur, described as the world’s best-preserved skeleton of the prehistoric winged reptile, has been found on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, scientists said Tuesday.The National Museum of Scotland said the fossil of the pterosaur, more popularly known as pterodactyls, is the largest of its kind ever discovered from the Jurassic period. The reptile had an estimated wingspan of more than 2.5 meters (8.2 feet), similar to that of an albatross, the museum said.The fossil was discovered by PhD student Amelia Penny during a field trip on the Isle of Skye in remote northwest Scotland, in 2017, when she spotted the pterosaur’s jaw protruding from rocks.

PHILADELPHIA - A young man is dead after police say he was shot multiple times Monday afternoon in Philadelphia's Frankford neighborhood. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 1700 block of Brill Street around 4 p.m. for reports of a shooting. Police said a 21-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds throughout the body. He was brought to a Philadelphia hospital where police say he died. No arrests were reported immediately following the deadly shooting.
