Ward sister Vicky Neville, 34, has written an open letter describing the agony of losing patients and calling their loved ones with the tragic news.She says she spoke out to 'open people's eyes' to the devastating impact of the virus.

In her letter, the intensive care nurse who works at Warrington hospital in Cheshire tells of the final moments of a dad-of-two whose wife could not be at his side because she too had the virus.

The patient was a kind, friendly man who would always wave to the nurses and ask them how their day had been, before his condition deteriorated and he.
