ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – In response to the coronavirus pandemic, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings has announced plans to sign a stay-at-home executive order. “I will be signing an executive order for a stay-at-home mandate for the entire county at the conclusion of this press event,” Demings said in a news conference Tuesday afternoon.

The order will go into effect Thursday at 11 p.m. and will continue for two weeks. There are at least 50 cases of COVID-19 in Orange County.

Just one week ago, the county only had one case, according to Demings. There are more than 1,400 Florida-related cases of the novel coronavirus, according to the Florida Department of Health.
