The number of Covid-19 daily PCR positive infections has been stable and in the case of self-reported antigen tests, it has decreased, according to the latest weekly update from the Department of Health.
It also said that PCR test volumes and test positivity have slightly reduced, but a significant proportion of detected infections continue to be seen in older age groups.
The department said that the average daily number of new confirmed cases in hospital has not increased further in recent days.
The data shows that 47% of those in hospital were admitted due to Covid-19, while the remainder were categories as having no symptoms but tested positive while in hospital for other care.
