Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has insisted he was nearing a return to full fitness before the season was suspended amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
The 27-year-old was ruled out from the end of September until mid-December with an ankle injury, and then made just two appearances from the bench before he was again sidelined.
Some have suggested that the Frenchman has exaggerated his issues to try to force through a move away from the club, but speaking to the UTD podcast Pogba said he was extremely close to making a return to action before football was stopped.
