Pedestrian rushed to hospital after being hit by 4x4

A pedestrian has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a Range Rover in Liverpool this evening (February 13). Emergency services were called to the scene Islington, on a read heading towards the city centre, just after 7.30pm.

There had been reports of an incident involving a 4x4 close to the BP Garage. Several roads including Moss Street and part of Falkland Street were blocked due to the incident.

The victim, a male, has been taken to hospital where he remains. Officers in attendance could be seen searching inside the Range Rover and in the cordon.

Police confirmed that the driver of the Range Rover stopped at the scene to assist with enquiries. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that emergency services are in Liverpool City Centre following a serious collision this evening, Thursday 13 February." "At 7.35pm, a report was received of a collision between a Range Rover and a male pedestrian at the junction of Islington and Devon Street, close to the BP Garage.
