A man knocked down by an ambulance as it raced to a 999 call has died. The unnamed 40-year-old was struck in the early hours of this morning.The incident took place as the man was walking on the A96 at Barmuckity, east of Elgin, Moray.
He was rushed to hospital but passed away a short time later.The road was shut for nearly 10 hours, reopening to the public at around 1.20pm this afternoon.
