A family food business based in Perth has been giving away stock which will not be sold now its client base has vanished due to the coronavirus.Until recently Stewart’s Scotland was doing a roaring trade in packaged tins of shortbread, fudge, tablet and mints supplying farm shops, delis, food halls and garden centres.The business sold 500,000 tinned units last Christmas.But with coronavirus forcing cafes and all but essential shops to close, the shortbread side of the company, begun by the Devenish family 53 years ago, disappeared overnight.But luckily the other side of the business - food and beverage wholesale Glencarse Foods, selling to small village shops and independent convenience stores - has gone “through the roof”.Brand manager for
