Lockdown rules should be relaxed to stop 'harassing sunbathers' says scientific adviser

The Government must stop "harassing" people who don't have a gardens for sunbathing in parks, a senior adviser says. It comes after Cabinet minister Michael Gove and Health Secretary Matt Hancock have both branded sunbathing during lockdown 'illegal', prompting police to move in on people enjoying the mild weather.

The Government's Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage) is set to meet this week consider the effectiveness of the coronavirus lockdown measures, which have now been in place for three long weeks.

Lockdown rules only allow for people to leave the house once a day for exercise purposes, or for essential food or to get medical supplies.
