EWING, N.J. - A 5-year-old boy of Ewing Township is in critical condition after he went into cardiac arrest on a soccer field last week. Sheryl Grell was watching her son, Anthony, run up and down the field during a soccer game when suddenly, he collapsed on the field. At that moment, Grell's instincts kicked in as she rushed to the field to save her son's life. Grell, who is also an emergency room nurse, performed CPR on her son in a rush to keep him alive. PHILADELPHIA - A SEPTA employee has been placed on leave and is in police custody after authorities say he was identified as a suspect in an attempted rape incident from 2019. Aaron Kuhn, a temporary SEPTA IT worker, was taken into custody by Philadelphia police at SEPTA Headquarters on Monday. Philadelphia police say Kuhn, 22, is charged with attempt to commit rape, aggravated indecent assault, unlawful restraint, and related offenses.Authorities say the alleged incident occurred back in Apr. 2019 on the 2400 block of York Street. Kuhn was placed on unpaid administrative leave and has been prohibited from entering SEPTA Headquarters, according to officials.

The CDC said Tuesday that COVID-19 rebound has been reported to occur between two to eight days after initial recovery from the virus. The "rebound" could be characterized as COVID-19 symptoms reemerging and/or testing positive again after having already tested negative. The CDC didn’t say how many rebound cases had been reported. The CDC said those initially treated with the pill who experience rebound COVID had mild illness. "There is currently no evidence that additional treatment is needed with Paxlovid or other anti-SARS-CoV-2 therapies in cases where COVID-19 rebound is suspected," the CDC stated. Additionally, the CDC stressed that Paxlovid’s five-day regimen of pills is still recommended for early-stage treatment of mild to moderate COVID among persons at high risk for severe disease. Paxlovid was authorized in December based on a study in which 1,000 adults received the medication.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Officials say no criminal charges will be filed after an Allentown man's killing was deemed "justified."Moments before 63-year-old Vincent Bynum was shot dead on February 10, he reportedly attacked and assaulted a man who lived nextdoor.The victim crawled home to ask his family for help, when officials say another resident confronted Bynum and asked why he attacked his brother-in-law.Bynum punched the resident, then chased him as he tried to flee, according to officials.The resident then reportedly pulled a gun and fired two shots, one striking and killing Bynum. Officials say he legally owned and possessed the gun.Bynum's death was ruled a homicide by the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.

universe is expanding more quickly than previously believed, and scientists aren’t really sure why. A recent study, which is set to be published in the Special Focus issue of The Astrophysical Journal, said that new results more than double the prior sample of cosmic distance markers used to measure the expansion of the universe. Nobel Laureate Adam Riess of the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) and his team, along with the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, "reanalyzed all of the prior data, with the whole dataset now including over 1,000 Hubble orbits." Hubble orbits mean the number of times the Hubble Space Telescope orbits the Earth, which is what was used to collect over 20 years’ worth of data to result in these recent findings. "You are getting the most precise measurement of the expansion rate for the universe from the gold standard of telescopes and cosmic mile markers," Riess said. When comparing measurements from previous data and the current data, Riess’ team found that the rate at which the universe is expanding was off. Previous measurements predicted the universe was expanding at a rate of 67.5 plus or minus 0.5 kilometers per second per megaparsec, according to NASA. However, Riess’ team showed the universe is actually expanding 73 plus or minus 1 kilometer per second per megaparsec, which predicts the size of the universe will double in about 10 billion years. "The funny thing is, it doesn’t match the prediction.
