Plane seen carving strange flight path in skies over Stockport, Wythenshawe and Chorlton

A plane has been seen flying a series of bizarre routes over South Manchester this weekend. The skies have been unrecognisable in recent weeks due to a huge decrease in flights during the coronavirus pandemic.

And while the sound of the odd cargo jet is still fairly common, despite being so close to an international airport, air traffic has been minimal.

But one small jet has caught the eyes of people in Stockport, Wythenshawe and Chorlton as it spent hours circling over head on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

The plane, a Partenavia P.68B Victor light aircraft has been repeatedly looping over the north west for the last four days. It landed at Hawarden Aerodrome near Chester after flying from Belgium, on May 6.
