A plumber has accused the government of being 'heartless' after he was fined by Companies House while his accountant dad was in hospital with coronavirus.
Chris Nixon, 42, owns a small plumbing business in Oldham and has to submit his accounts to the government every year by law.
His 70-year-old dad, Trevor, is employed as his accountant and usually deals with his son's finances. But Trevor was taken to hospital seven weeks ago after contracting coronavirus, and has been in intensive care battling the disease since.
His devastated family say his condition has been "touch and go" for a number of weeks. Chris sent off his accounts to Companies House in February, and received a penalty after they arrived late.
