(FOX 9) - The man who allegedly fired shots inside the Mall of America last week and the person police say directed him to do it were arrested Thursday after a week on the run.FOX 9 is told Shamar Lark and Rashad May were taken into custody during a traffic stop Thursday in the Chicago area, seven days after shots rang out inside the mall on August 4. This week, police said they believed Lark was the man who fired shots inside the mall after an altercation at the Nike store. Officers say it appears May "prompted" Lark who then fired multiple shots.

LAS VEGAS - New details were released Thursday on the DUI arrest of former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch from earlier this week in Las Vegas. On Aug. 9 before 7:30 a.m, an officer was conducting a vehicle stop on a car for a man asleep behind the wheel.According to a police report, the car had significant damage, with no rim or tire on the driver’s side front wheel, with dents and dings on the rear driver’s side wheel that about to fall off and the front passenger rim and tire that was almost off. The officer noticed the car was not running but the car had a push button to start and the keys were with the driver. The driver, who was later identified as Lynch, was asleep behind the wheel with the driver’s door open and leaning back in the seat, documents said. Investigators noted Lynch would speak and fell in and out of sleep several times throughout the encounter. According to the police report, the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the car and Lynch, his eyes were bloodshot and watery, and he had one shoe on.  Lynch told the officer that he was "not drinking and he does not do drugs, but that he stole the vehicle," documents said. The report said the responding officer asked Lynch if he would exit the car, he refused and became uncooperative.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Authorities worked Thursday to determine the cause of a house explosion in a southern Indiana neighborhood that killed three people and left another person hospitalized.The explosion Wednesday afternoon in Evansville damaged 39 homes and crews had not yet completed thorough searches of all of them due to instability of the structures, Fire Chief Mike Connelly told reporters Thursday morning.Eleven of the damaged homes were uninhabitable and will have to be demolished, Connelly said, and finding a cause is expected to be a "very tedious process — and lengthy."Names of the dead hadn't been released as of Thursday morning. Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar on Thursday pointed out that only 17% of people have taken booster doses in the state and further urged all to get the third shot. Moderna says construction of its new mRNA vaccine factory in the Montreal area will begin later this year, with production expected to begin by the end of 2024.The vaccine manufacturer is announcing that it has agreed to purchase land in a biotechnology park in Laval, Que., a northern suburb of Montreal, to serve as the site of its biomanufacturing facility.The Massachusetts-based company says the site is ideal due to its proximity to a renowned research institute, the Institut national de la recherche scientifique.Moderna announced in April that it would build a factory in the Montreal area that would be able to produce 100 million doses of mRNA vaccines a year. PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department is set to announce the offering of a reward in connection with a West Philadelphia hit-and-run that left a woman and two children hurt on Monday. According to authorities, officers were called to the intersection of 50th Street and Haverford Avenue around 10 p.m. for reports of a hit-and-run. Philadelphia Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters that a 29-year-old woman and two girls, ages 3 and 13, were standing on the side of the road when a vehicle jumped the curb, hit a fire hydrant and then struck the three victims. Police have released surveillance images of a car wanted in connection with a hit-and-run in West Philadelphia.  The vehicle continued driving after it struck the woman and two girls, according to police. The woman was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital, where she remains in critical condition with a severe leg injury and the girls were sent to CHOP in stable condition. Captain mark Overwise, the Commanding Officer of the Philadelphia Police Department's Accident Investigation District, is holding a press conference at 1 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA - Police are investigating a crash in Northeast Philadelphia involving a teenager behind the wheel, according to authorities. Police say a traffic officer on patrol saw a Toyota Camry being driven at a high rate of speed in the area of Grant Avenue and Bluegrass Road around 2:30 a.m. The officer began to follow the vehicle as it traveled to Welsh and Bluegrass where it almost crashed into a marked police car, authorities say. At the intersection of Welsh Road and Dewees Street, the car jumped the curb, crashed through the fence of a private home, and drove over the lawn before it was launched into the air and landed on another car, Chief Inspector Scott Small said. The car then crashed into the front of two twin homes, putting a large crack in the stone in the front of the property, authorities say. The damage to the front of the properties is so extensive that inspectors have deemed it unsafe, police say. Small says the officer who was following the Camry then took the driver, a 15-year-old, into custody. Investigators say the car had been reported stolen from Northeast Philadelphia about 1 hour before. Small says speed and reckless driving were a factor in the crash.  

The victim, 34, ran inside a corner store and was followed by the shooter who fired at least two more times. PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a man was shot twice during a street shooting that spilled into a crowded corner store in West Philadelphia. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the area of 41st Street and Lancaster Avenue just before 7 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA - Homicide detectives with the Philadelphia Police Department are investigating after a teenager was shot and killed in West Philadelphia on Monday night. According to police, 18th District officers responded to numerous 911 calls for gunshots and a shooting at 52nd and Larchwood Streets just before 10 p.m. Chief Inspector Scott Small says responding officers found an 18-year-old on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds to his head, chest and back. Authorities say he was unresponsive and bleeding heavily. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESOfficers rushed the 18-year-old to Presbyterian Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police say. According to Small, at least 52 shots were fired from two separate caliber weapons, including a rifle and a semi-automatic handgun. Authorities say they believe two shooters were standing close to the victim at the time of the shooting. Investigators are still processing the crime scene and checking surveillance cameras in the area as part of the ongoing investigation.

PHILADELPHIA - A man is in police custody after he fatally shot his girlfriend in the head in Tioga, police say. According to Philadelphia Chief Inspector Scott Small, the shooting occurred just before 1 a.m.

PHILADELPHIA - Police say four teenagers are in the hospital after they were shot in North Philadelphia on Thursday morning. According to Philadelphia Chief Inspector Scott Small, the incident happened just before 2 a.m.Police say officers with the 6th District responded to numerous 911 calls reporting gunshots and a shooting near 7th and Wallace Streets. When police and medics arrived on scene, they found four shooting victims in the courtyard of the Spring Garden Homes, according to authorities. Small says two of the shooting victims ran inside a property of the Spring Garden Homes after being shot. According to police, the victims were two teenage boys and two teenage girls. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAuthorities say all of the teenagers are in critical but stable condition and they are expected to be okay. Small says a 16-year-old girl sustained a serious gunshot wound to the face, while a 14-year-old girl was also shot in the face. The boys, ages 13 and 15, were shot in their arms and legs, according to officials.   Small says 21 spent shell casings from a semi-automatic weapon were found in the courtyard of the complex. Investigators say they believe all four of the victims were standing near the home where two of the teens live. According to police, a revolver was also found on the scene, but they do now know how it relates to the shooting. Authorities say they do not have a motive at this time, but said they will check cameras in the area. This shooting came a few hours after another quadruple shooting in West Philadelphia that left several people injured, including a 2-year-old. It also comes at a time when the city has implemented a curfew for children and teens under 18.
