A police officer was 'met with verbal drunken abuse' after trying to break up a birthday party during the coronavirus lockdown.
The officer was called to Mulgrave Road, in Worsley, late last Thursday (April 9) to find between 30 and 40 people celebrating outside a home despite the government's rules.
After trying to bring an end to the party, a number of people became abusive and extra officers had to be called in to help.
In a post on Facebook, a spokesman for GMP's Worsley team said: "It was disappointing to hear that around 11.30pm on Thursday, April 9, our inspector attended numerous reports of a large scale birthday party on Mulgrave Road in Worsley. "There was roughly 30-40 people present, both neighbours and friends of the residents
