PHILADELPHIA - Police shot and killed a juvenile who investigators say opened fire on officers Tuesday night in South Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Police Department Sergeant Eric Gripp told reporters that four plainclothes officers in an unmarked were patrolling near the 1700 block of Barbara Street around 7 p.m.

when they spotted two juveniles on bikes. According to investigators, officers noticed that one of the juveniles was armed with a handgun and turned on the emergency lights to confront him.

As police were getting out of the car, Gripp said the armed juvenile fired a shot at the passenger's side window and narrowly missed striking the officers.

PHILADELPHIA - A suspect has died after police say he was shot by a store owner in North Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred shortly after noon on the 1400 block of Master Street – a few blocks from Temple University’s campus. Police say the unidentified suspect was armed with a gun and attempting to rob a corner store when the store’s owner shot him multiple times. The suspect was hit twice in the chest and twice in the abdomen. He was taken to Temple University Hospital by responding officers but later succumbed to his injuries. Investigators say guns were recovered at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Scammers are taking advantage of the ICON Park tragedy by trying to defraud people who want to help the family of the teenager who fell off the Orlando FreeFall drop-tower.The family of 14-year-old Tyre Sampson said some have created fake GoFundMe accounts, scamming people out of money supposedly to be used for funeral costs. "People in the world today, they feel like they could just take from people," said Sampson’s cousin, Alvina Burch. The family said some photographs used in the fake pages were not originals of Tyre Sampson but appeared to be altered images. "We trying to be her voice and not have all this fraudulent… and have all this scamming stuff going on with her son’s name, with her name," said Burch.GoFundMe sent FOX 35 a statement which read, in part, "Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this tragedy.  Immediately following the news reports, our Trust and Safety team began monitoring the platform and removing any fundraisers not authorized by the family of Tyre Sampson.

These applications were turned down as per a majority decision of the five-judge bench of the Supreme Court.The Extraordinary Gazette:Sri Lanka’s Health Minister has issued an Extraordinary Gazette preventing unvaccinated people from entering or being in public places on 25th January 2022.People must have proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to enter public places starting 30 April.The Gazette noted that “A person shall not enter any public place without having the proof of being fully vaccinated against the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID – 19) unless exempted by the Proper Authority in respect of the whole of Sri Lanka.”“For the purposes of this regulation “fully vaccinated ” means that the relevant person has obtained the required doses of the relevant vaccination as specified by the Director – General of Health Services”, it added.
