Police have praised the vast majority of people in Dumfries and Galloway who are following strict lockdown rules.Officers were granted new powers in the Coronavirus Act on Friday making it a criminal offence to flout health guidance on social distancing to prevent the spread of Covid-19.But cops point out that there are still a “very small minority” of people refusing to comply and being fined £30.Deputy Chief Constable Malcolm Graham said: “We’ve had high visibility patrols in place right across the country since we were given these enforcement powers.“It’s clear that the vast majority of people are complying with the measures.
