The Master of the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin has said feedback has been "tremendously positive" to a move by the hospital which sees the return of partners being able to accompany mothers-to-be to the key 20 to 22-week anomaly scan.
The Dublin city centre hospital lifted a ban a month ago on partners coming for key anomaly scans. Speaking on RTE's News at One, Dr Fergal Malone said the hospital schedules visits to "try and maximize the time for the scan and the distance between patients".
He also said all patients, staff and visitors wear face coverings throughout the hospital. Dr Malone said the facilities and physical layout of the Rotunda lend themselves to allow foetal assessments to be carried out in an entirely separate part of the
