The Premier League has handed out strict restrictions for clubs to abide by after announcing that they can stage friendlies against each other ahead of the league restart.

Managers were informed on Tuesday morning of the rules, which include teams not being allowed to travel more than 90 minutes for matches, while players must drive themselves to the fixtures.

Top flight football will resume on June 17, more than three months since the last ball will have been kicked by a Premier League player.

And in order to best prepare teams for the return to action, clubs have been told that they will be allowed to play friendly games.
